ACIM Daily Poem for Lesson #135, May 15th

Please Read ACIM Lesson #135

If I defend myself I am attacked.

Do you know how to use your body,
Or just how to abuse your body?
You think you need a defense,
But that is just a pretense --
God's Strength is not distant --
He is with you every instant.

You've experienced rejection
So you feel dejection,
And seek hopeless protection.
But on further inspection,
And with great introspection,
You can see the deflection
Of your mental correction:
You are just God's Reflection.

You body can't stand
Your mind's foolish plans --
You've been smacked and attacked,
But God has your back.

You're going to be sorry about
Those things that you worry about --
Because you're a weak defender,
To God you must surrender.

If your body you want to save,
Then you'd better be brave,
And you'd better behave --
Trouble you'll foment
If you don't live in the moment.

Your mind is a tight little wad,
So let go and let God --
Defenses keep you from seeing
The Glory of God's Being.

So stop messing around --
His blessings go around --
His Mission you're manning,
So stop future planning.

Safety you'll receive
When you finally believe --
Stop living on a whim --
Put total trust in Him.
