 In my defenselessness my safety lies.

Attack! Attack! Attack!
   The world shoots you in the back --
Its gifts are bombs and flak.

While Salvation waits
   We live in dire straights
At Heaven's gates.

God gives us His Joys,
    But we hear a fearful noise,
And play with fearful toys.

God's given us more worth
   Than to live our lives on earth:
We'll abide with Him in joyful mirth.

Your doubts are not offensive,
   So don't be apprehensive --
This world makes us defensive.

Remember it won't be long --
   Our inner Christ is strong --
In Heaven we belong.

Heaven is our reality,
   Not earthly insanity --
Only truth is meant to be --
   Only God gives surety
For safety through eternity.
